Hello Fellow Amateurs,

Our February meeting will be a road trip. We are being hosted by Kevin Duplantis, W4KEV, of Midwest Communications on Sharps Ridge.

Kevin is going to test out portable radios. We all have a couple of HT's, so bring them and enjoy in checking them out. The meeting will start at 6pm. Make note of the time change.

Our March meeting will continue our training and getting our task books completed. All Knox county ARES members are encouraged to attend meetings,  check into nets and be prepared.

Speaking of being prepared, the recent outage of internet and cell phones should be an awakening of how fragile our world is. Served agencies will be relying on us when this happens.

Deb will take our dues which are payable now. Pay at the next meeting.

Please keep our government officials, military personnel and first responders in your prayers.

See you on the Ridge,

Jim Norman, N4CFB

President

Hello Fellow Auxcom operators,

We have some exciting meetings coming up. The training, fellowship and learning.

Our annual dues are payable now. Deb will gladly write a receipt, but our paypal account may be having some issues.

Our February meeting will be a road trip. We are going to the studios of Midwest Communications, Sharps Ridge, and our host, Kevin, W4KEV, is going to give a presentation and test out our portable radios. So it will be very interesting see the difference in inexpensive and expensive radios. This will be informative and entertaining.

Everyone has to fill our an application at the beginning of the year. This is to keep all current contact information up to date. If you are interested in being a Knox County ARES member, I strongly encourage you to be a minimum of Level 1 in your task book and have ICS 100,200,700 and 800 completed. This is to better serve our served agencies should we be deployed. There is no charge to be an ARES member, but having this certifications shows dedication and seriousness to our service.

I am looking forward to seeing a full house at the meeting,

Keep our public service, military and government officials in your prayers.

Jim Norman, N4CFB

President
